Better Collective launches new American facing platform us-bookies.com
With the recent Supreme Court decision to repeal PASPA, Better Collective, the world’s leading provider of betting tips, bookmaker information and gambling tools, is already positioning itself towards the attractive market through their latest website, us-bookies.com.
Us-bookies.com is an educational platform that currently serves the punters of the U.S. horse racing community. In line with Better Collective’s current global portfolio of sites, which is predominantly focused on sports betting, the site includes bookmaker reviews of currently available bookmakers in the U.S., as well as how-to content for those new to horse racing. With the new decision from SCOTUS, us-bookies.com will expand its focus on the broader landscape of sports betting beyond horse racing. Â
Most importantly, the us-bookies.com features a continuously updated interactive map of the USA that breaks down the legal gambling specifications of every state in the union. As the U.S. market is a developing landscape, this tool will become invaluable for punters who will be learning how to engage with the iGaming space. Â
Jesper Søgaard, Founder and CEO of Better Collective, said: “Just like most of our peers in the industry, we are very excited about yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling. Better Collective is looking to increase our portfolio in the market, and us-bookies.com is just the start of a much wider plan to target the U.S. market.
“The USA has always been an interesting market to follow, and US traffic to our bettingexpert.com site already ranks within our top-5 traffic sources. This decision is sure to become a catalyst for many operators and affiliates to become more aggressive with their strategies to enter it. My hope is that Better Collective will establish a stronger presence in the U.S. to help give the proper tools to new punters navigating the iGaming space for the first time.“
What is PASPA?
The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) is the federal law passed in the United States in 1992 that declared a nationwide ban a sports betting (with a few exemptions). The PASPA ruling did not apply to certain sports, which included horse and dog racing.
On May 14, 2018, the Supreme Court of the United States repealed the act, making the legal status of sports betting a discretion of state legislation, rather than federal. Multiple states who have been in favour of repealing the act, including New Jersey, are expected to legalise sports betting within their state in the near future.
